Growing Notes
Katy Wilson teamed up with Ted Klopp and Lauren Klopp Williams (also of Thorn Ridge Vineyard) in the planting on
this coastal vineyard. The combination of the Goldridge sandy loam soils and coastal climate lend to wines with
great complexity of minerality and high levels of acidity.
In 2021, we started the year with great anticipation after the devastating 2020 vintage where we did not harvest
Clones Mt. Eden & Old Wente anything. The season started off with a mild winter with some unusually warm days in January.
Despite the sporadic Soil Goldridge fine sandy loam warm weather, budbreak happened at a normal time in mid-March. We had moderate temperatures in the spring Harvest September 4th and summer. The harvest started in early September and we
finished before the end of the month. Due to the balanced climate and yields, quality was fantastic and we think that
it is one of our best vintages.
The nose has alluring aromas of doughnut peach skin and candied lemon peel, with floral aromas of jasmine and
pH 3.21 lemon blossom shining through as it opens up. Layers of vanilla play nicely with elements of citrus and stone fruit.
Alcohol 13.2%
Balanced acidity meets with notes of apricot, tangerine, and minerality that lingers long after the last sip.
